Bogong to Hotham 2017

Jan 14, 2017

It has been 15 years or so since I’d run the Bogong to Hotham ultramarathon down in the Victorian Alps. I’ve always maintained that it is the most scenic ultra I’ve ever run in Australia, so I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to do it again!

Anyway, I did get around to it this year finally. Had had a niggly Achilles leading up to it, so was a bit unsure how I was going to go with the three massive climbs in the event, but everything held together and it was a magnificent day out on the Bogong High Plains.

Finished 13th in 9:28 – 7 min faster than 15 years ago – all those years of training in between don’t seem to made much difference, some might say! I might have finished 5 min earlier if I hadn’t taken so many photos, but it was hard not to.
