Protein structure, function and engineering

Lake Macquarie Rogaine Aug 2013

Gareth has been rogaining for a few years now, and Joel has been meaning to do an event with him for most of that time. Finally, the stars aligned and let the two of them enter the 12-hour event held up in the Watagans in August. They made a great start for the first 5-6 hours, but then Gareth started to suffer a bit – perhaps from trying new nutrition for the event and perhaps from the two of them going out a bit enthusiastically at the start. A change of plan was called for, and a long walk back to the hash house was initiated – taking several hours and involving many pauses for nausea and general resting. Lessons were learned for next time I think though and a great time was had in the first half of the event with some spectacular creeks and spurs.
