Tanja Mittag from St Judes in Memphis stopped off in Sydney to give a seminar after being an invited speaker at the Lorne Protein Conference this week. Her work on liquid droplets is very interesting indeed – and it’s a field that is really just beginning I think. Joel took the opportunity to show her a prime example of Sydney sandstone coastline. They caught a ferry to Bundeena and walked a circuit that bypassed the famous coast track and instead travelled a minor route that is really right up on the cliffline – fantastic views on a beautiful day. There was the small issue of the unintended rogaine-style bush bash on a supposed trail that Joel had found on a map and thought would be a good idea to help make a loop, but the less said about that, the better. Suffice to say, Tanja has had the opportunity to see some stands of thick banksia from the perspective that only a wombat would normally get…
Hopefully, she’ll still come back though…
