For a change of scenery this year, we decided to have the lab Xmas bbq at the Marrickville croquet club rather than our usual Bronte beach location. Gareth Denyer in the School is a long-ago member who has just started playing again and has convinced Joel to join the club too – bringing back old Cambridge memories of croquet at Leckhampton (the grounds of his college – Corpus Christi). It seemed to be a hit overall, with Gareth coming along to coach everyone and perfect weather for the occasion. We may well be back next year…
